Assembling Your Basic Hot Rotor Kit

  1. Locate drill bit #25 (smaller of the two drill bits)
  2. Using low speed (60-200 rpm) and plenty of cutting oil, drill all holes in the four rotor disks, beginning with disk #451 (thick backing disk without export port slots).

When drilling & tapping the back plate, you only have ONE SHOT. If you screw up you'll have to order another plate.

Use plenty of cutting oil!

  1. Tap threads in all 9 holes of disk #451 . Apply a drop of tap magic on the end of the tap for each hole threaded.

Clean the tap after each thread is cut, and be careful to tap the holes perfectly perpendicular to the disk. Set this disk aside after tapping.

  1. Locate the 3/16-inch drill bit. Using very low speed and plenty of cooling oil, drill all the holes in disks #452 and (2) #453. Set aside the two (1/6-inch thick) #453 disks.
