Locate the drilling position indicated in Figure 8.

Drill a 0.125"-0.25" pilot hole all the way through to the center bore.

Finish drilling a 0.4375" (7/16") hole, and thread with a (1/4") pipe tap.

The final operation involves finish-drilling the engine stand plate set, and welding the bottom plates.

Referring to Figure 9, there are six plates in the set. The upper two act as compression plates when bolting the case assembly together. The lower four act as both compression plates and bolt-down stands.

Begin by finish-drilling all of the rough holes to approximately 0.39" -- or just over 3/8" diameter.

Next -- as shown in the Figure 10 close-up, align and clamp the large vertical plate to the smaller horizontal plate (with 4 holes). Weld the two sets of plates.

One final note -- the Tesla Turbine Kit comes with enough gasket paper and silicone to seal the case components later in the build process. While silicone is sufficient without an additional gasket, some people prefer using a gasket set.

Gaskets may be fabricated by placing the paper material over the pump body end and carefully cutting out the bolt holes and larger mating hole with a sharp Xacto or razor knife.
