Munising, MI - Today a proof-of-principle experiment in a small rural town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula signaled the beginning of the end for the venerable piston engine.

PNGinc has reached a major milestone in the war on pollution by coupling their proprietary pulse detonation combustor technology to a small Tesla type disc turbine, and successfully spooling it up.

"There remains quite a bit of development work ahead to achieve useful power, but this first demonstration proves that we are on the right track towards heading off the coming ‘green diesel' catastrophe of the near future – with an engine that will deliver more power, with less pollution, at a lower price," says Ken Rieli, the company's CEO.
