Space-age Mining Efficiency
Visit our Rebuilding the Copper Country blog!
Keweenaw’s copper still lies beneath its rocky surface. Treasures - waiting to be located & efficiently mined by space-age industrialists. But the REAL 21st century treasure is Energy Mining.
In addition to low-cost renewable energy turbomachinery & high-efficiency vehicles, our know-how also extends into space-age technologies that make mining for metal resources truly sustainable:
Copper Refining using Electroplating
Electroplating is a plating process in which metal ions in a solution are moved by an electric field to coat an electrode. Italian chemist Luigi V. Brugnatelli is credited with inventing electrochemistry in 1805, and by 1850 commercial electroplating of nickel, brass, tin, and zinc were developed.
In the case of poor-grade ore in Michigan’s Copper Country, electroplating can extract every ion of metal from the rock in a fraction of the time it takes to heat a coke-fired furnace. - Using PNGinc’s renewable energy turbomachinery, and sustainable refining techniques, valuable water resources can now be protected from industrial contamination.
Nikola Tesla’s Electric Motors
During the 1880’s Nikola Tesla had already established his brushless alternating current motors as the ideal prime mover. By using efficient electric motors for hoisting & other mining operations instead of mule or steam power, early mining companies could have cut operational costs drastically. - Today, this same technology can be powered by PNGinc’s solar turbogenerators for even greater savings.
New Pulse Induction Circuits by Ken Rieli
Ken Rieli’s passion for creating global space-age industries led him to invest months of research & development in new metal detecting technologies. All of Ken’s work in pulse induction circuits can now be used to locate pure metallic masses of copper & silver in the Keweenaw. - The same technology may be used in the Huron Mountains to locate large gold, silver & uranium deposits.
Historically, pure native copper masses were discovered near the surface after stumbling upon ancient copper mining pits in the Keweenaw. Today we are able to take the guess work out of finding metals that the world demands.
